Murrmaid Ventures is looking to provide a West Coast fishing experience like no other starting with your guide, Bruce Murray. Bruce was born and raised in Port Alice. He has a love for his community and the small-town charm it provides. Being raised in Port Alice, he is no stranger to the area and all of the opportunities it provides for amazing fishing.
Bruce offers a high level of guiding experience, guests will have a fun-filled experience on the water that will leave them coming back year after year. Bruce is a passionate outdoorsman and is committed to providing guests with an exceptional day out on the water whether they are first-timers or experienced fishermen. Bruce has several years of guiding experience at some of BC’s best lodges and holds all the required safety certifications (SVOP, MED A3, and ROC-3).
Behind the scenes of Murrmaid Ventures is Bruce's Wife, Kaileigh. Kaileigh is behind the scenes booking trips, baking fresh goodies, packing lunches, and assisting trips. She is a graduate of the Baking & Pastry Arts program at VIU and looks forward to using her knowledge to provide the guests with exquisite hospitality. Kaileigh has been working in North Island tourism for the last ten years and is happy to give recommendations on all the incredible spots on the North Island. From restaurants to hikes to sightseeing to everything in between, she is happy to share her knowledge and love for the North Island.
Our Boat
The Latitude Changer 2470 pursuit is equipped with a Yamaha 300 to get you to the fishing grounds quickly and comfortably. This boat comfortably fits 4 adults with large deck space, comfortable seating, and a wider haul. The boat has a hard-top roof and diesel heater for those colder days and the ability to open up the canvas on those hot, summer days. This boat is ideal for any weather conditions Mother Nature has to offer. A built-in toilet is located in the bow as well as the cuddy-cabin to give you the privacy you need. It also provides a place to rest if you're feeling a little rough and need to lay down. For your fish, we have a custom fish well with a cleaning table on top for easy handling and preparation.
