What to expect

Murrmaid Ventures offers single-day trips, 2 day/ 3-night trips, and 3 day/ 4-night trips for 2 or 3 guests.

Our trips will leave from the Port Alice Marina and include an 8-10 hour day fishing for salmon, halibut, and more. The scenic 45-minute boat ride from Port Alice to the fishing grounds will be a sight for many with the beautiful coastline and an abundance of wildlife to see. As we arrive at the fishing grounds, our guide Bruce will drop the lines and prepare the boat for that first bite. Hot coffee, water and a warm breakfast will be served to the guests as they anxiously await a bite.

The boat is equipped with a comfortable cabin to hide from the rain, a diesel heater and a comfortable cuddy in case anyone needs a quick nap between reeling fish. If guests choose to explore bottom fishing, Bruce will take them to his lucky Hali holes for some jigging.

At lunchtime, Bruce will set up a sandwich buffet on the back table where guests can build their lunches all while sending the rods back down to the bottom in hopes of the big one.

After a full day of fresh air and hopefully a daily limit of fish, Bruce will begin the adventure back to the Port Alice Marina. On a lucky day, guests will get to stop and see eagles flying above, sea otters cracking open their lunch, and humpback whales surfacing throughout the inlet.

On multi-day/multi-night trips the guests will then return to Port Alice to the Airbnb where they can BBQ up the dinner provided. After dinner, the guests can relax while watching the sunset over the inlet before catching a good night's sleep in hopes of another exciting day on the water.
